5 Worship Songs for Uncertain Times

Covid-19 has turned the world on its head.

As more and more businesses close and events are cancelled, life feels as though it has been put on hold. The sick and death tolls continue to grow even as we attempt to perfect this foreign idea of “social distancing”.

And good Lord, why is the toilet paper gone?

With all the news— not to mention fake news— floating around our newsfeeds, now may seem like a great time to succumb to panic. Or anger. Or fear. All of these are normal emotional responses to what we see happening around us. These are uncertain times. (understatement of the year, I know.)

My thoughts about the virus and its impact are still a pretty tangled mess at this point. I can’t solve the world’s problems with my words. Heck, I can’t even solve my own problems.

So, instead of adding my two cents to the endless online narrative, I just wanted to share 5 worship songs that I have been encouraged by during this season. These songs have helped me to slow down my anxious soul long enough to meditate on God’s goodness. They are songs full of simple truths and humble prayers to our faithful God. I hope that they can be an encouragement to you.

1. Still My Soul, Be Still| Keith and Kristyn Getty

2. I Will Trust My Savior Jesus| CityAlight

3. He Will Hold Me Fast| Shane & Shane

4. Defender| Francesca Battistelli

5. Amen| I AM THEY

Let’s Chat!

  • How are y’all doing?
  • How can I pray for you?
  • What have you been encouraged by during this season?
